Weather Delays, Closures, and Remote Learning

Moniteau School District is committed to providing our students with the best possible education. We have learned from our experiences over the past few years that our students learn best in an in-person learning environment. In an effort to better support our students, Moniteau School District will use traditional snow days until we no longer have snow days available.

Currently, our snow makeup days are as follows:

  • Monday, February 17, 2025 (makeup day for January 6, 2025)
  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025 (makeup day for January 16, 2025)
  • Monday, April 21, 2025 (makeup day for January 21, 2025)
  • Thursday, April 17, 2025 (makeup day for January 22, 2025)

As of Wednesday, January 22, the district has utilized all snow makeup days that were planned in the school calendar. Any additional inclement weather days will follow the Flexible Instructional Day (FID) model.

Please know that the district makes decisions regarding closures and delays with input from surrounding school districts, township and borough officials, school administration, and ABC Transit, Inc.

Two-Hour Delay

In the event of a two-hour delay, the following will take place: Families will be notified of a delay via the Skylert message system (phone, email and/or text), a message will be visible on the district website and district Facebook page, additionally, local news and radio stations will broadcast the message. Every effort will be made to notify families of a two-hour delay no later than 6:00 a.m. When the district is following a two-hour delay schedule, the high school will start at 9:30 a.m. and the elementary school will start at 11:00 a.m.

School Closure for In-Person Learning

In the event that conditions require a full-day closure for in-person instruction, the district will operate first by using all available snow makeup days and when those are exhausted by using a Flexible Instruction Day (FID). Families will be notified of the closure via the Skylert message system (phone, email and/or text), a message will be visible on the district website and district Facebook page, additionally, local news and radio stations will broadcast the message. When school is closed, all extracurricular activities are cancelled. Every effort will be made to notify families of a closure no later than 8:00 a.m.
